Everything You Always Wanted to Know About the NIH Electronic Application Process

NIH is in the process of converting from the PHS 398 to the SF424 (R&R) (Research and Related) grant application. This talk will provide updates on the transition process and includes an overview of submitting the SF424 (R&R) electronically to NIH through Grants.gov and ways to interact with NIH electronically. This session will also provide an overview of investigators’ and administrator’s roles when submitting an application electronically to NIH and when to use the NIH Commons to interact with NIH electronically post-award. For all attendees. |

The Computer Workshop will give institutional grant administrators and principal investigators hands-on-keyboard training on the NIH electronic grant application process. The emphasis will be on finding and using the correct application package including the SF424 (R&R) application form, following application instructions, checking submission status in the NIH eRA Commons system and reviewing the assembled application. Trainers will walk participants through the process as well as provide tips for avoiding common errors and advice from experience. |
